Having been a chef for the last 20 years I feel I have gained a good insight into what makes a chef’s knife. One of my main reasons for becoming a chef was the ability to be able to use the amazing tools of my trade.
I’ve always been fascinated by the process of knife making so I decided to start making my own. I have since discovered that it is a thing that I derive immense satisfaction and hair pulling frustration from!
I started making knives about seven or eight years ago and soon wanted to learn more so I went on an intensive course with Owen Bush a truly amazing craftsman. I then went on to do a blacksmithing and forge work evening course at Kingston Maurward college in Dorchester.
